Pathway to Quran (PTQ) Policies

Young Muslims (YouM)

Effective Date: April 2026

At Young Muslims (YouM), Pathway to Quran (PTQ) is designed to nurture children’s love for the Quran through a structured, engaging, and story based learning approach.

Our programme is supported by qualified and experienced asatizah, and our policies help ensure that learning runs smoothly for students, parents, and teachers throughout the year.

The following policies apply to both onsite and online classes, unless otherwise stated.

1. Programme Structure

Pathway to Quran is a year round programme running from January to December. The curriculum is designed to provide a consistent and progressive learning experience for children.

Classes may be conducted:

  • • Onsite at designated learning venues
  • • Online through approved learning platforms
  • • Through recordings or alternative lesson formats during certain periods such as Ramadan

Class timings, group allocations, and venue details will be shared with parents upon enrolment.

2. Fees and Payment

Programme fees support the delivery of lessons, learning materials, teaching staff, and administrative operations.

The following payment terms apply:

  • • Monthly programme fee: $95
  • • Fees are payable in advance by the 1st of each month
  • • A one time registration and administrative fee of $30 applies during sign up
  • • Fees are not prorated and remain payable regardless of attendance

Fees continue to apply in months that include:

  • • Public holidays
  • • School holiday breaks
  • • Ramadan lesson adjustments
  • • Recorded lessons instead of live classes

Parents are encouraged to set up a recurring bank transfer or GIRO to ensure timely payment.

If fees remain unpaid for an extended period, participation in the programme may be temporarily paused until the outstanding balance is cleared.

3. Attendance and Absences

Regular attendance is important for students to follow the learning flow and build confidence in their Quran learning.

Please note the following:

  • • There are no make up classes or fee reductions for missed sessions due to personal reasons such as illness, travel, or other commitments.
  • • Parents should inform the class facilitator in advance if their child will be absent.
  • • Where possible, materials or recordings may be shared so students can catch up.

If a child’s attendance is consistently low over several months, the YouM team may arrange a discussion with parents to explore how best to support the child.

4. Public Holidays and School Breaks

PTQ runs throughout the year but includes scheduled breaks.

There will be no classes during:

  • • Public holidays
  • • Certain school holiday periods such as June and year end breaks

These breaks are part of the overall programme structure, and fees remain unchanged.

5. Ramadan Schedule

Many PTQ classes take place in the evening, which may overlap with family time during Ramadan.

To support families during this special month:

  • • Some live classes may be replaced with pre recorded lessons or guided activities prepared by the asatizah
  • • These materials are designed to keep learning meaningful while allowing flexibility for families
  • • There will be no classes during the last 10 nights of Ramadan

Ramadan is still considered part of the programme schedule, and monthly fees remain unchanged.

6. Withdrawal from Programme

Parents who wish to withdraw their child from PTQ must provide one month written notice via email.

Please note:

  • • Fees for the final month of enrolment remain payable
  • • Fees already paid are non refundable, even if the child does not attend the remaining sessions

7. Refund Policy

All programme fees are non refundable once payment has been made.

Refunds will not be provided for:

  • • Missed classes
  • • Unused lessons
  • • Public holiday breaks
  • • Ramadan schedule adjustments
  • • Early withdrawal from the programme

8. Student Code of Conduct

Young Muslims (YouM) strives to create a respectful and supportive learning environment for every child.

Students are expected to:

  • • Log in or arrive 5 to 10 minutes before the class begins
  • • Demonstrate good adab and respect toward teachers and peers
  • • Participate positively in class activities
  • • Follow instructions from teachers and facilitators

Parents play an important role in supporting their child by ensuring punctuality, a conducive learning environment, and respectful participation.

9. Safety and Well Being

The well being of students is important to us.

For onsite classes:

  • • Parents should drop off and pick up children on time
  • • Students who are unwell should remain at home to rest

For online classes:

• Parents should ensure their child has a stable internet connection, suitable device, and a quiet learning environment

If a child becomes unwell or distressed during class, teachers may contact parents if necessary.

10. Communication

Important updates and announcements are typically shared through:

  • • WhatsApp class groups
  • • Direct messages to parents
  • • Email or official announcements on the YouM website

Parents are responsible for ensuring their contact information remains accurate and updated.

11. Agreement to Policies

By enrolling your child in the Pathway to Quran programme, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these policies. These policies help ensure that the programme runs smoothly and that every child benefits from a positive and consistent Quran learning experience.
